Monitoring 4.7: New Version, New Language. Hello, world!

We’re excited to introduce our latest update, which teaches our monitoring tool to speak English and test faster than ever before.

If you have colleagues from across the globe, they can now join in on web speed diagnostics—no more puzzling over a Czech interface. Plus, we’ve added several nifty features to make test management a breeze.

English (finally) arrives

We’re pleased to announce that our web speed monitoring tool now speaks English.

English or Czech Czech or English?

This feature has been a priority because many of our Czech and Slovak clients work with people not only from all over Europe but from around the world.

We’re seeing more and more international names among our clients. Thus, adding English to the interface is one of the steps towards offering this tool beyond the Czech pond.

How does it work practically? There are several levels at which you can change the language:

Language selection in the app Three places where you can change the interface language.

If your company has international colleagues, you can select the language in team settings (shown as number 1 in the image). Another option is to switch to English in your user profile settings (2) or directly in the app interface, on the top bar (3).

When changing at the team level, the monitoring tool will start communicating in English, or simply your chosen language, even outside the app, such as in Watchdog notifications or monthly email reports.

Faster testing without the wait and other improvements

  • Starting a new test is now faster, as we no longer wait for all tests to complete.
  • Test Settings: For Slack or Teams channels, we’ve added a "Name" field to make managing multiple channels easier.
  • Watchdog: You’ll now receive a message in Slack or Teams even after unsubscribing from notifications.
  • Watchdog: If synthetic measurement issues cause your Watchdog not to work, we’ll notify you. This feature will soon be visible directly in your tests.
  • Notes: After revamping the notes feature, we’ve stopped displaying notes older than the test age.
  • In the modal window for drilling down into a specific day in synthetic tests (e.g., Technical), you can now see the specific status of individual test runs.

Speed tips and new help articles

Our web speed “help” has seen many improvements, along with seven brand new articles:

Internal projects in the PageSpeed.ONE workshop

  • We’re working on a new one-time speed test app.
  • We’ve advanced discussions about brand and overall strategy for international markets.
  • We’re preparing a new server with a faster database.
  • We’ve built our own redirect machine to speed up website testing.
  • We’ve moved the topic of translating help into other languages forward.

What do you think of this release? What language should we add next? Found a bug? Got an idea?
