Discontinuing FREE Monitoring: Switch to PLUS or INSIGHTS

We are gradually discontinuing our free web speed monitoring. Since the founding of PageSpeed.ONE, we have always aimed to spread awareness about the importance of performance measurement, alongside our client work.

Professional monitoring is now offered under our PLUS brand, and you can newly perform one-time tests on your website with our INSIGHTS.

If you need to preserve your data, switch to PLUS monitoring before 1 September 2026 to ensure seamless measurement continuity.

Why FREE Monitoring is Ending#

We believe in transparency and would like to explain the reasons, not just announce a change:

• FREE monitoring was originally created as a free speed monitoring tool so that anyone could keep an eye on performance.
• In practice, most people use it for one-off checks – a quick "how's my site doing" check. This is exactly what Insights is designed for today.
• The quality of FREE measurements was not ideal as it relied on the PageSpeed Insights API. Our PLUS service uses our own significantly more stable synthetic measurements – learn more about how we measure.
• Running free monitoring is, unsurprisingly, not cost-free.

You might also be interested to know that we are preparing a new, cheaper plan focused primarily on data from the Chrome UX Report. We’ll announce the details in due time – keep an eye on our newsletter or social media.

What to Do Next#

Depending on how you approach speed, we offer two clear paths.

Regular Monitoring? Choose PLUS#

If you want to keep speed under long-term control, which we highly recommend, the solution is PLUS monitoring. It measures landing pages daily, monitors deteriorations with Watchdog, and provides specific improvement tips.

Compared to FREE, it offers more stable and accurate measurements you can rely on when evaluating changes.

And a monthly trial is now free for everyone.

The transition is swift, and if you complete it before 1 September 2026, your measurement will continue uninterrupted.

One-Time Web Speed Test? PageSpeed.ONE Insights#

If you just need a quick current assessment of your site, use Insights. Enter a URL and immediately see how your site fares – no monitoring setup required.

Insights is the perfect replacement for those who used FREE monitoring for one-off tests. Simply run a one-time measurement and see the result straight away.

Frequently Asked Questions#

What will happen to my existing FREE monitorings?#

They will continue to function until 1 September 2026, and we will keep measuring new data until then. From 1 September 2026, new data collection will stop, and from 1 October 2026, FREE monitorings will completely disappear from dashboards.

Will historical data be available?#

No. Historical data from FREE monitoring is regularly deleted (approximately twice a year) and will no longer be available in dashboards after 1 October 2026.

However, this data comes from Chrome UX Report by Google, so it can still be obtained elsewhere.

Who does this change affect?#

All users of FREE monitoring. It does not affect the paid PLUS monitoring, which continues unchanged.

Your teams and user accounts will remain unchanged.
