PageSpeed.ONE Tester: What's New in Version 3.0

As some of you might have noticed, the PageSpeed.ONE website has got a new look, and we are gradually launching the third version of our web speed tester.

What are the main changes in the new version?

1. The ability to register and log in, unlocking new features like adjusting test settings.
2. We have also added teams, allowing you to monitor your website speed with colleagues.
3. A dashboard where you can track the speed of any number of domains.
4. Speed data is now collected and displayed for both mobile and, for the first time, desktop.

The third version is currently in beta and is available at https://pagespeed.one/app/.

Let's take a closer look at the new features we have added to the tester.

User Accounts and Teams#

Measuring and improving speed is, frankly, a team sport, so we have added the option to log in with your own account. This enables you to create teams and add colleagues who will see the same speed data as you do.

Logged-in users also unlock new options like changing test settings, including the much-requested URL update, and setting up monthly report emails.

Dashboard for Monitored Domain Speeds#

We know most of you are responsible not just for one website's speed but an entire suite of domains. The dashboard allows you to track not only speed status but also reports changes compared to the previous period:

How do you add websites to the dashboard?

1. Register or log in.
2. Create a new test or use test URLs you've saved before.
3. Once logged in, you'll see the option "Add to my tests" at the bottom of the test.
4. After adding a test, we create a copy that you can then track in the dashboard:

It's worth noting that the original test URL remains intact. We copy the test to a new address so you can modify your copy.

Data for Desktop and Mobile#

A common request was to see speed data not just for mobile devices but also for desktops.

We're happy to oblige, as Google now evaluates desktop as well within the Page Experience signals. We also know from client work that not every site has perfect speed metrics, especially concerning Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS).

Now you just need to switch. This is available to both logged-in and non-logged-in users.

New Design#

The identity of PageSpeed.ONE, along with the website and speed tester, has undergone a redesign featuring more pronounced typography and better data communication in the tester.

We received design help from Petr Ondrusz. Thank you! The third version tester was also worked on by Zuzana Fatrdla, Martin Brychta, Michal Matuška, Tomáš Hejč from SUPERKODERS, and Martin Michálek.

Speed Tester Remains Free#

Despite all the improvements, we continue to make the speed tester freely available to everyone who, like us, knows that speed matters. We will, of course, keep working on further enhancements.
